In 2009, Delta came to Schematic Atlanta to figure out the future of mobile for the company. At the time, Apple's App Store was less than a year old and Delta had zero presence on the platform. In less than a week, we came up with an approach for Delta to own the mobile space on iPhone that converged with their website and an interactive touch-wall for Atlanta's airport.

Our idea centered around giving travelers a new way to experience their vacations and trips around the world with Delta by giving them utility and rich content to enhance their journey. By making Delta.com smarter & more customized to understand their core users and creating an iPhone app that was spatially and socially aware, we presented Delta with a new vision to becoming a better travel partner.

For our pitch, we shot interviews with Schematic employees around the company in our Austin, New York, LA, and London offices asking them "What would you like to do on your mobile device when travelling with Delta?" Those answers became part of an idea video that we packaged up in a custom Delta/Schematic co-branded app with our pitch ideas and designs. The pitch was hand delivered on an iPod Touch which the client really loved.

It was a really fun project and a huge success as it won Schematic a mobile account with Delta.
