Adobe came to Schematic in 2009 to build an interactive experience on their Flash platform for watching movies and TV shows on demand. Adobe was making partnership plays with TV manufacturers (LG & Vizio) and wanted us to develop the experience that would live inside the TV sets. The LA and Atlanta offices of Schematic joined forces to concept, design, & prototype the experience to present to Kevin Lynch, Adobe's CTO and one of the original Flash Evangelists for the company.
In a period of less than 4 weeks, our small creative and technology team designed and built the prototype that Adobe was looking for. Schematic's experience in TV UI was a big plus for Adobe and we brought all that knowledge to bear on building the simplest, yet most useful experience for users while also thinking of brand implications and potential channel partnerships.
Adobe ended up killing all their partnership plays with Vizio & LG that year but the project was a huge success for their R&D division who we worked with directly and led to other partnerships between Schematic & Adobe.
